WORKSHOP DE BUFÃO COM DOLORÉZE LEONARD (Canadá)

Durante 44 anos, a lendária quebequense Dolorèze Léonard tem compartilhado seu talento artístico em todo o mundo.
Ela é fundadora do Cirque du Soleil e fez parte da sua primeira turné americana. Ela ainda colabora com o Cirque, entretendo e organizando eventos para funcionários há 16 anos, no sempre encantador papel de Madame Zazou. Em Vermont, Dolorèze colabora com Bread and Puppet Theatre. Na Europa, atuou no jantar show “Pomp Duck and Circumstance” como Mestre de Cerimónias por 6 anos. No Canadá, ela apresenta o Just For Laughs Cabaret como Madama Zazou, um show de sua própria criação. Nos últimos 12 anos colaborou com o Teatro Zinzanni (EUA) em “Love Dinner Chaos” como realizadora e performer. No Havaí, Dolorèze dirigiu o HICCUP Circus no S.P.A.C.E. (Seaview Performing Arts Center for Education), trabalhou lá como voluntária com a comunidade local e co-criou todos os shows extremamente populares “Le Chic”. Viajante pelo mundo, Dolorèze Leonard ensina a rica experiência humana e criativa de Bouffon ao longo das suas viagens.
Este workshop oferece uma imersão no mundo do bufão pela mão de uma das mais prestigiadas pedagogas internacionais nesta linguagem: Doloréze Leonard. A arte do bufão oferece-nos um universo no qual o ator se diverte parodiando a vida. Através da paródia o bufão oferece um reflexo da nossa sociedade pela via de um humor provocativo que se situa entre a imitação e a crítica. O bufão encontra sua força e sua audácia para criticar a sociedade cercado por seus pares, a sua família. Cada família de bufões é diferente e particular, mas o elemento de apoio está sempre presente. Esta oficina trabalha o sentido da escuta, a consciência espacial e como manter a peça teatral viva num contexto de trabalho coral. Para se aproximar do mundo da audácia e do riso, mantendo-se leve, os participantes trabalharão nesta oficina a sua aparência física, a construção do seu personagem, a sua atitude e a intensidade de seu olhar.
BOUFFON with Doloréze Léonard (Québec)
For 44 years, legendary Quebecer Dolorèze Léonard has been sharing her artistic talent around the world.
She is the founder of Cirque du Soleil and was part of its first American tour. She has been a Cirque entertainer and organizer for employees for the past 16 years, playing the ever-enchanting role of Madame Zazou. In Vermont, Dolorèze collaborates with Bread and Puppet Theatre. In Europe, she performed in the dinner show “Pomp Duck and Circumstance” as Master of Ceremonies for 6 years. In Canada, she hosts the Just For Laughs Cabaret as Madama Zazou, a show of her own creation. For the past 12 years, she has collaborated with the Zinzanni Theatre (USA) on “Love Dinner Chaos” as a director and performer. In Hawaii, Dolorèze directed the HICCUP Circus at S.P.A.C.E. (Seaview Performing Arts Center for Education), volunteered there with the local community and co-created all of the hugely popular “Le Chic” shows. A world traveler, Dolorèze Leonard teaches Bouffon’s rich human and creative experience throughout her travels.
This workshop offers an immersion into the world of the jester, taught by one of the most prestigious international pedagogues in this language: Doloreze Leonard. The art of the jester offers us a universe in which the actor has fun parodying life. Through parody, the jester offers a reflection of our society through provocative humor that lies somewhere between imitation and criticism. The jester finds his strength and audacity in criticizing society surrounded by his peers and his family. Each family of jesters is different and particular, but the supporting element is always present. This workshop works on the sense of listening, spatial awareness and how to keep the play alive in a context of choral work. To get closer to the world of audacity and laughter, while remaining light-hearted, participants will work on their physical appearance, the construction of their character, their attitude and the intensity of their gaze.

Desde 2005, tem feito turnés internacionais com seu premiado show solo A LIFE IN HER DAY, dirigido por Avner Eisenberg, e em shows de variedades em todo o mundo com seus números curtos. Em 2018, ela criou um espetáculo em colaboração com outros artistas chamado THE LAST RAT OF THERESIENSTADT, que ganhou os quatro principais prémios quando estreou no Lalka Tez Cztowiek Puppet Festival em Varsóvia, Polónia. Inspirando-se no teatro de palhaços, no movimento, nos objetos e nas marionetes, Hilary vem criando trabalhos solo e em conjunto nos últimos 40 anos. Ela foi membro do elenco original de LARGELY/NEW YORK, de Bill Irwin, e apareceu na Broadway na produção do Public Theatre de THE TEMPEST, dirigida por George C. Wolfe. Ela desempenhou um papel de destaque em Forrest Gump e advogada em LEI E ORDEM CRIMINAL INTENT. Hilary entretinha crianças em hospitais de Nova York como “Enfermeira Nice” do renomado Big Apple Circus Hospital Clown Program® (desde 1987) e é membro fundador do New York Goofs, um conjunto de palhaços criado em 1996. Ela atuou e ensinou em todo o mundo em mais de 20 países e 5 continentes. Ela está atualmente em desenvolvimento com um novo programa chamado BITE ME! com CB Goodman e Aitor Basauri.
O workshop “Criação em Clown e Comédia Física” consiste num laboratório de criação de números cómicos.
Os participantes irão desenvolver um trabalho de escrita dramatúrgica que potenciará a execução de espetáculos de curta duração a solo, em dupla ou em trio.
Conduzido pela renomada atriz americana Hilary Chaplain, este laboratório pretende fornecer ferramentas concretas para aqueles que desejem escrever as suas próprias peças dentro das linguagens do clown e da comédia física.
Para esta oficina é necessário ter experiência prévia em teatro físico, clown ou comédia.
No final da oficina haverá uma apresentação final pública.
Physical Comedy Creation Lab with Hilary Chaplain (USA)
Since 2005, Hilary Chaplain has toured internationally with her award-winning one-woman show A LIFE IN HER DAY, directed by Avner Eisenberg, and performed in variety shows around the world with her short comic acts. In 2018, she created a collaborative show with other artists called THE LAST RAT OF THERESIENSTADT, which won four major awards when it premiered at the Lalka Tez Cztowiek Puppet Festival in Warsaw, Poland. Drawing inspiration from clowning, movement, objects and puppetry, Hilary has been creating solo and ensemble works for the past 40 years. She was an original cast member of Bill Irwin’s LARGELY/NEW YORK and appeared on Broadway in the Public Theater’s production of THE TEMPEST, directed by George C. Wolfe. She played a leading role in Forrest Gump and a lawyer in LAW AND ORDER CRIMINAL INTENT. Hilary entertained children in New York City hospitals as “Nurse Nice” for the renowned Big Apple Circus Hospital Clown Program® (since 1987) and is a founding member of the New York Goofs, a clown ensemble created in 1996. She has performed and taught worldwide in over 20 countries and 5 continents. She is currently in development with a new show called BITE ME! with CB Goodman and Aitor Basauri.
The workshop “Creation in Clown and Physical Comedy” aims to be a laboratory for creating comedy acts.
Participants will develop a work of dramaturgical writing that will enhance the execution of short shows solo, in duos or trios.
Lead by the renowned American actress Hilary Chaplain, this laboratory aims to provide concrete tools for those who wish to write their own plays within the languages of clown and physical comedy.
Previous experience in physical theatre, clown or comedy is required for this workshop.
At the end of the workshop there will be a final public presentation.

É mestre em artes cénicas pela ECA/USP com a pesquisa: Arlequim na Dramaturgia Performativa de Dario Fo, sob orientação do Professor José Eduardo Vendramini.
Vem pesquisando os processos criativos de Dario Fo e sua relação com a Commedia Dell’ Arte e o Teatro Medieval, ministrando cursos e oficinas no Teatro Commune e em outras cidades do Brasil e do exterior.

A Commedia Dell’ arte, género teatral que surgiu na Itália, no século XVI, influenciou o teatro moderno de Shakespeare a Molière e Goldoni. Consiste na arte do ator e na sua relação com a criação do espetáculo. Suas características são a improvisação, a máscara cómica, a pantomima, o gramelô, a escatologia e a crítica social.
O treinamento com as máscaras visa estimular a imaginação criativa do intérprete, ator ou não ator, aliando a isso, economia gestual e teatralidade. Ao esconder o rosto, a máscara revela toda a expressividade corporal. Quando veste a máscara, o intérprete pode, de fato, substituir a sua identidade pessoal por outras. Destaca-se a importância da máscara no trabalho de expressão e comunicação e na relação direta com o público.
Faremos também um link da Commedia Dell’ Arte com Dario Fo mostrando como o ator e autor italiano, vencedor do Prémio Nobel de Literatura, utilizou elementos, técnicas e as figuras da Commedia Dell’ Arte e do Teatro Medieval para a criação de espetáculos
contemporâneos, como, Morte Acidental de um Anarquista, O Diabo com Tetas, O Arlecchino e Nem Todo Ladrão vem para Roubar (que foram montados pelo Teatro Commune) e Mistério Bufo, monólogos baseados nos evangelhos apócrifos.
Workshop “Commedia Dell’Arte and the Theater of Dario Fo” with Augusto Marin (Brazil)
Augusto Marin holds a master’s degree in performing arts from ECA/USP, with research on Harlequin in Dario Fo’s Performative Dramaturgy, under the guidance of Professor José Eduardo Vendramini. He has been researching Dario Fo’s creative processes and their relationship with Commedia Dell’ Arte and Medieval Theater, teaching courses and workshops at Teatro Commune and in other cities in Brazil and abroad.

Commedia Dell’ Arte, a theatrical genre that emerged in Italy in the 16th century, influenced modern theater from Shakespeare to Molière and Goldoni. It consists of the art of the actor and his relationship with the creation of the show. Its characteristics are improvisation, the comic mask, pantomime, gramelô, eschatology, and social criticism. Training with masks aims to stimulate the creative imagination of the performer, whether an actor or not, combining this with gestural economy and theatricality. By hiding the face, the mask reveals all bodily expressiveness. When wearing the mask, the performer can, in fact, replace his or her personal identity with others. The importance of the mask in the work of expression and communication and in direct relations with the audience is highlighted.
We will also link to Commedia Dell’ Arte with Dario Fo, showing how the Italian actor and author, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, used elements, techniques and figures from Commedia Dell’ Arte and Medieval Theater to create contemporary shows, such as, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, The Devil with Tits, The Arlecchino and Not Every Thief Comes to Rob (which were staged by Teatro Commune) and Mystery Bufo, monologues based on the apocryphal gospels.
